Well, we bought a bathroom scale on Monday night. It's digital so there is no room for interpretation about our weight. Monday night when we got home I weighed 221.8. Yesterday morning I weighed 221.8. This morning I weigh 219.? I was so excited about losing weight that I've already forgotten what the .? was but I am happy about it.
Yesterday was my biggest challenge so far. I had several extreme cravings for a coke. The food doesn't seem to be my issue here.... it's the soda that it's hard for me to give up. I read the back of a pepsi bottle and 8 oz has 28 carbs. Wow! That's a day and a half worth of carbs for me in one small glass. I would typically have several 20oz glasses in a day at work plus at least one more with dinner which was always a large or route 44 type of cup. Sometimes even a two-liter at dinner time. Water is my new friend.
James and I agreed to do this together and that helps. Also, a co-worker has done the low carb diet before and has decided to do it again with me. Then, I found out Monday evening that my brother Danny began the low carb diet on Monday as well. What a happy coincidence. Knowing that I am not in this alone helps alot.
